There is another great reason to visit the Texas State Fair as Chevrolet’s pickups will be celebrating 100 years young with two of the 2018 models. Chevrolet feels there is no better place to kick off this grand Centennial celebration than at the Lone Star State Fair in the heart of pickup truck country. So, grab a deep-fried something and a cold drink and check out the new and special designed Silverado 1500 and Colorado Centennial Editions.
These Centennial models will be offered only as off-road orientated Z71 trims. They will come with the Centennial Blue paint and the “Heritage inspired” bow-tie emblems proudly displayed on their massive grills, front doors and tailgates. These badges will be ringed in chrome with dark blue centers in place of the traditional Chevy gold. This special Chevy bow-tie also sports the word Chevrolet in a bright chrome script that resembles some of the earliest pickups, such as the original 1918 One-Ton. Just to make double sure that these Centennial pickups are not mistaken for the regular ones, Chevrolet placed more of those 100-year badges on the chrome tow-hooks and their spray-in bed-liners and even the floor mats. No getting away that this Silverado or Colorado is special and will be a collector’s item.
Other additions for the four-wheel drive, crew-cab only Silverado includes the LTZ trim, 22-inch painted alloy wheels with chrome inserts and another chrome placed emblem on the steering wheel. The mid-sized Colorado Centennial comes either as a crew cab or extended cab. You will also have a choice with rear or all-wheel drive setups. The Colorado comes with 18-inch wheels, a body-color rear bumper, special designed grille and chrome mirror caps, door handles and even body molding. Both pickups are designed to attract attention with their clean lines, plus wide and assertive stances. These new Centennial pickups are built so they are as much fun to drive as they will be to be seen in.
Securing one of these beauties is as easy as visiting the friendly folks at Huffines Chevrolet Plano located at 1001 Coit Rd in Plano, Texas or by calling the dealership at 972.867.4000 and finding out the next step. Better hurry as they will be made in limited production. While there, why not take a Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Z71 or the Colorado Z71 for a test drive.
